Lancaster Museum of Art and History
The Lancaster Museum of Art and History, in collaboration with Los Angeles’ Thinkspace Gallery, is pleased to present The New Vanguard, featuring works by over 55 artists from the New Contemporary Movement. The exhibition will present one of the largest cross-sections of artists working within the movement’s diverse vernaculars, ever shown within a museological context in California to date. An ambitious compilation, The New Vanguard will bring together some of the most relevant and dynamic artists currently practicing from all over the world. The exhibition, opening August 13, will take place in tandem with this year’s installment of POW! WOW! Antelope Valley.

LA Art Show 2016
The LA Art Show embraces its role as the regions preeminent art fair and emerges as the annual civic celebration of the visual arts. The record breaking enthusiasm surrounding our 2016 edition surpassed all expectations and encourages our team to deepen our roster of galleries and pursue new exciting art programming. The evolving role of the art fair as a fulcrum for art commerce, connecting galleries, artists, curators, and collectors drives our marketing and planning. The art fair world is expanding and we are proud to be one of the world’s largest and longest running events with 150,000 square feet of exhibition space and close to 70,000 attendees this past year. As Los Angeles takes its place as a vanguard of the global art scene, our ability to adapt and evolve to meet the art market’s current trends is vital.

Coming up this September at London’s StolenSpace Gallery will be “LAX/LHR”. For the ninth iteration of Thinkspace’s traveling group exhibitions, we have teamed up with D*Face and his crew to present the largest survey of the New Contemporary Art Movement to ever take place in the United Kingdom.
This special exhibition will feature over 130 local and international artists co-curated by Los Angeles-based gallery Thinkspace and London-based gallery StolenSpace. The massive group exhibition serves as a survey of the burgeoning New Contemporary Art Movement for art lovers in the United Kingdom, handpicked by two of the scene’s most respected galleries.
“With roots firmly planted in illustration, pop culture, comics, street art and graffiti, put quite simply the New Contemporary Art Movement is art for the people,” Thinkspace co-founder Andrew Hosner said.
